Scholarships

The Crown Point Community Foundation is the financial administrator of over 70 scholarship funds created by generous community donors. Scholarship criteria is chosen by the donor. The scholarship committee reviews all submitted applications and makes recommendations based on the criteria of each scholarship.

The 2018 Scholarship Application is now Closed. 

Next scholarship application will be available January 2019

Scholarships for Adult Learners(21 and over) will be available starting in May 2019. 

 

Application Process

  1. Review the Scholarship List below.
  2. Use the filtering options to determine if you qualify for available scholarships
  3. Complete the online Scholarship Application.
  4. The scholarship committee reviews all submitted applications and makes
    recommendations based on the criteria of each scholarship 
  5. All applicants are notified of their application status by email/mail

South Lake County resident, 25 yrs old or younger, attending building trades or auto/diesel mechanics program leading to a certificate or degree. $1,000 non-renewable.

Graduating senior from Hanover Central, Lowell, or Crown Point High School who will be attending any college, university or vocational school. Applicant must have participated in the Cedar Lake Girls Softball League for at least 4 years.  2 $500 scholarships .

Crown Point Lions Club Scholarship

CPHS graduate, completed the second semester in a program leading to a bachelor’s degree in speech and hearing pathology, optometry, or related fields, at an accredited college or university by the time the scholarship is to be paid.  Applicants enrolled in post grad degree programs in the indicated fields of study shall also be eligible.  Applicants must be enrolled as full time students.  Other selection criteria will be financial need, scholastic ability, character, leadership and integrity.  $1,000 non-renewable.

Crown Point High School graduating senior, minimum 3.0 GPA.  Essay required, explaining how the student has overcome adversity in life. Student has participated in either school related sports or recreational sports.  Minimum award $2,500.

Resident of Lake County, Indiana at least 25 years old, enrolled at Indiana University Northwest. Recipient must be taking at least 2 courses per semester, minimum GPA 2.5 with preference given to a student with financial need. Cannot be in a graduate program. $500, non-renewable.

Graduating senior from Lake, Porter, Jasper or Newton Counties in IN.  Minimum 3.0 GPA.  Attending an Indiana state sponsored college, university or technical school.  Family income between $80,000 and $150,000.  Must maintain a 2.75 GPA and full time student status in college every semester to receive additional semester scholarship payments.  Up to $5,000 per semester for 8 semesters.
